How to play it: Glamour Factor to WIN.
Race 2 CLASS 2 HCP (1600m):
Lightly raced 3 year old 3. Tribbiani looks perfectly placed taking on the older horses here, last two runs over 1600m have been very good sitting right up on the pace and only getting run down late last start. In form jockey Billy Owen retains the ride and will be able to cross from out wide and sit outside the speed.
Dangers: 2. The Iceman has been consistent this preparation and only needs to reproduce one of its last four runs over 1600m to be in the finish. 4. Thee Jenner could run a bold race from the front, if he can pinch some slow early sectionals he will be hard to run down.
How to play it: Tribiani to WIN.
Race 3 MAIDEN SW (1400m):
Big field to take on the 1400m and tough to assess with confidence due to a very tricky speedmap where there seems to be a lack of on pace types. Have settled with 9. Tapanui at an each way price, has race up on the speed in his career and from the nice barrier they should look to roll forward, was solid last start having to sit wide in the run and fought to the line.
Dangers: Hawkesbury trained 7. Our Celtic Star improved sharply last start over 1400m at Bathurst and with general improvement form the run will be running on late. Nick Heywood takes the ride on 6. On A Promise, has been looking for this distance range off the back of two solid runs over unsuitable trips.
How to play it: Tapanui EACH WAY.
Race 4 BM58 HCP (1000m):
Very competitive race with many runners having the required form to take it out over the 1000m,
Mark Milton-trained gelding 5. Dynamite Dan resumes off a small freshen up, all career wins have come over the 1000m and from barrier 4 will do no work to lead or find a handy position in the run.
Dangers: 3. Mums The World was very impressive last start showing a great turn of foot to put them away over 1100m, main issue is the wide draw but if the mare jumps well and isn’t posted wide should be right in the finish. Anthony Cavallo takes the ride on 4. Bitofaster on the quick back up after flying late to just miss over 900m, the step up to 1000m is ideal and will be the one trying to finish over the top of them late.
How to play it: Dynamite Dan to WIN.
Race 5 BM58 HCP (1300m):
Going with the each way value about 10. Phenomenal Spirit who will make its own luck leading or right up on the pace from the nice barrier. The gelding was very good first up off a small freshen up over 1100m at Narromine behind Mums The Word where he ran them along at a solid pace and was only collared late.
Dangers: 3. Fraternater was an impressive winner last start over 1300m at Wagga sitting just off the speed and showing a nice sprint to put them away, should find a position one off the fence midfield and a repeat performance of the effort at Wagga will be enough to figure in the finish.
How to play it: Phenomenal Spirit to WIN.
Race 6 OPEN HCP (1200m):
The Joseph Ible trained 6. Manzana comes here off a dominate all the way win at Gundagai where the gelding was made to work early with 61kg from a wide draw early but still managed to show a sharp sprint late to put them away with ease. From the wide draw the in from Bill Owen has time to cross and dictate once again from the front.
Dangers: The drop in distance will suit 3. Sugar Dance who was brave in front over 1300m at Narromine last start and will make its own luck right on the speed. 4. Jetgirl is going for three straight wins and this looks another winnable race for the mare. 9. Star Boy could be the big improver here off a short freshen up.
How to play it: Manzana to WIN.
Race 7 OPEN HCP (1600m):
Another very even field to tackle the Parkes Gold Cup over 1600m, Chris Heywood trained gelding 1. Class Clown looks to return to form off the back off a disappointing run when tested in a higher grade, this class of race and back to 1600m are both ideal and gets a nice run behind the speed.
Dangers: 3. Wild Cavalier gets out to a suitable trip after two solid runs over shorter trips. 2. Itsa Faint Accompli could improve sharply back to 1600m.
How to play it: Class Clown to WIN.
Race 8 CLASS 2 SW (1200m):
13. Press Box resumed with a dominant win over 1100m at Bathurst and only needs to reproduce something close to that effort to be hard to beat here.
Dangers: 5. Sahara Emaar was very good leading all the way at Mudgee last start and if the gelding can find the front without having to work early he will be hard to run down.
How to play it: Press Box to WIN & Quinella 13 & 5.
