Pair arrested after fleeing scene of a hit and run in central Victoria

Two people have been arrested following a hit and run in Malmsbury, in central Victoria, on Sunday morning.

Police say a man and a woman fled on foot after crashing their car into a black Ford on the Calder Freeway near the East Malmsbury on-ramp about 6am.

Nine News reports that the pair’s car was fitted with stolen plates.

The driver of the Ford, reported to be a 57-year-old man, was taken to hospital with a back injury and later released. His teenage son was assisted at the scene.
